Mumbai 'Lone Wolf' Attack or a Deep Conspiracy?

Mumbai 'Lone Wolf' Attack or a Deep Conspiracy? || Is there a cure for the majority society's 'Night Blindness'? || Will India survive 'Ghazwa-e-Hind'?

The recent incident in the Antop Hill area of Mumbai, the city of dreams, is extremely concerning from the perspective of security and radicalization. The murderous attack on two security guards at the gate of a posh housing society by a 31-year-old youth named Mohammad Zaib 'Zubair' Ansari is not just an accidental criminal event, but a sign of a deep and well-thought-out conspiracy. Investigative agencies are treating it as a 'Lone Wolf Attack.'

According to eyewitnesses, Zubair arrived fully prepared, and his behavior was unusual. Without any provocation, he targeted the necks and upper bodies of the guards. This style of attack—sudden lethal strikes on unarmed and innocent people—is typically the hallmark of professional attackers or individuals inspired by intense radicalization.

Educated Jihad: The Journey from America to Mumbai

Zubair is no ordinary criminal; he is highly educated. He holds a Science degree and lived in the United States with his parents from 2000 to 2020. There, in Kentucky, he worked as a tennis instructor at a school for nearly five years. He returned to India after his work permit expired. His wife is of Afghan origin and is currently in the US. In 2022, he also sought employment in London (UK), but after being unsuccessful, he returned to India and began teaching Chemistry and Mathematics as an online tutor.

The investigation into his digital footprint by the Mumbai Police and ATS has revealed shocking facts. He used to watch videos of banned extremist organizations on the internet and was learning the methods of 'lone wolf' attacks. Clear signs of him being inspired by ISIS have been found. This proves that radicalization is not linked to economic hardship but to ideological poison.

The Game of Security vs. 'Insanity Defense'

Globally, whenever such jihadis are caught, a particular community begins efforts to label them as "misguided youth" or "mentally unstable." In this case, too, the same 'Insanity Defense' card is being played. This is a provision in Indian and global law that makes it easier to save criminals. Often, allegations are even hurled at the police, claiming the individual is being framed to defame a specific community.

Mumbai's Dark History of Jihad and the Politics of Appeasement

Mumbai has always been sensitive because it has been the workplace of notorious jihadis like Dawood Ibrahim (the main accused in the 1993 bombings), Haji Mastan, Varadarajan Mudaliar, Karim Lala, Chhota Shakeel, Abu Salem, and Tiger Memon. These criminals carried out anti-national activities, considering them their 'religious duty.' Due to the Muslim appeasement policies of the then governments and local protection, they escaped the clutches of the law for a long time.

The November 26, 2008, Mumbai attacks (26/11) are the most horrific example, executed by 10 terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Even to stop the hanging of the only terrorist caught alive, Ajmal Kasab, every possible effort was made from certain political circles in India, and mercy petitions were even sent to the President. Therefore, it should not be surprising if today some political parties stand in line to save Mohammad Zaib Zubair as well.

Inspiration from Pahalgam: The Same Pattern

This incident in Mumbai is not merely a local dispute. The entire country cannot forget the incident in Pahalgam (Besaran Valley) where Hindus were gunned down after being asked their religion, forced to recite the Kalma, and having their identities verified. It was only after this that India destroyed terror camps across the border through 'Operation Sindoor.' Zubair's modus operandi also appears inspired by Pahalgam, as he verified the religious identity of the guards before attacking.

Tragically, while some political figures, most notably Robert Vadra (husband of Priyanka Vadra), described the Pahalgam incident as a "reaction to discrimination," the parties practicing the politics of appeasement are completely silent on this Mumbai incident.

Global Perspective: The Expansion of 'Urban Terrorism'

This 'Lone Wolf' terror is not limited to India. According to the Global Terrorism Index, 93% of attacks in Western countries are carried out by such solitary attackers.

    • France (2016): 86 people killed by a truck plowing into a crowd.
    • USA (Orlando): 49 people killed by Omar Mateen.
    • UK (London): MP David Amess stabbed to death.
    • New Zealand (Christchurch): Indiscriminate firing at a religious site.

According to recent reports, these attacks have increased by 200% following the Israel-Gaza conflict. Attackers are now using platforms like Telegram and the Dark Web, making it difficult for agencies to track them.

'Sar Tan Se Juda' and the Terror of Street Justice

The way Zubair asked the guards' religion in the Mumbai incident directly mirrors the brutal murder of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur. The slogan 'Sar Tan Se Juda' (Head severed from the body), which emerged after the Nupur Sharma episode, is no longer just a slogan but has become a mechanism for 'Street Justice.' This narrative convinces youth that they are above the law. This is the environment that gives people like Zubair the courage to become 'Lone Wolves,' where they feel they are punishing 'Kafirs' (infidels) for their faith.

The 'Jhangur Babas' of Jihad and Information Warfare

To distract society, stories of bizarre elements like 'Jhangur Baba' or 'Seema Haider' often surface. While the sons of India are becoming victims like Kanhaiya Lal and the country is discussing serious threats like Zubair Ansari, topics like unemployment, petrol prices, and inflation are suddenly made to trend on social media. This is a global 'Digital Distraction' strategy of a specific class, aimed at making the majority society close its eyes to real dangers and get entangled in irrational and endless issues, while radical networks deepen their roots in the background.

The Land Jihad of the Waqf Board

After the streets and the corporate world, the third front has emerged in the form of the 'Waqf Board' and land disputes. The way the Waqf law is being used to claim public properties, temples, and farmers' lands is an attempt to create a 'State within a State' inside India. This is the legal version of 'Land Jihad,' which is even more lethal to India's geographical integrity than Zubair's knife.

Ghazwa-e-Hind and Modern Challenges

The core objective of all these jihadi activities is 'Ghazwa-e-Hind'—the Islamization of India. Whether it is infiltration through 'Corporate Jihad' in institutions like TCS, the incidents in Amravati-Nashik, or this attack in Mumbai—all are part of a larger pattern. When agencies focus on one incident, a new front is opened to distract them.

The tragic aspect of India is that here, under the guise of constitutional rights, infiltration is being turned into a vote bank, and radical elements are being prioritized. Due to this 'foolish mindset,' the threat to India's current form is constantly increasing.

Are We Ready?

From the first invasion by Muhammad bin Qasim to today's 'Digital Jihad,' the objective has remained the same—to erase India's Sanatan identity. The silence or muffled support of the educated class of a particular community regarding these events indicates that this fight is not just about a few misguided youth, but about a deep-rooted ideology.

Final Warning:

The threat is now far greater from the person sitting next to us, equipped with modern technology and degrees but whose ideological compass is stuck 1,400 years in the past, than from the enemy standing at the border. The Zubair incident is a wake-up call. It reminds us that the threat is no longer just at the border, but has reached our cities, neighborhoods, and doorsteps. If we fail to recognize this web spreading from the corporate cabins of TCS to the gates of housing societies today, the India of the future will only be safe in history books.

Today, the question is not why Zubair attacked; the question is, are you and your system ready to stop the next attack?
