Public memory is very weak, so even very bad things are not remembered for long. There are countless examples of this in India.

Owing to horrific excesses of the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi in 1975, the people overthrew the Congress government in 1977 and Indira Gandhi herself lost the election in Rae Bareli but two and a half years later, in the mid-term election in 1980, Indira Gandhi came back to power. Despite the corruption-free tenure of Janata government and all its good works, the people again voted for Indira Gandhi's government due to internal infighting and turmoil within the Janata party.

So who will form the next government in Uttar Pradesh, can not be exactly predicted at this stage ? However, one thing is certain that the people of the state openly accept that the tenure of the Yogi government so far has been far better than the tenures of the Chief Ministers of U.P. in the last 15-20 years namely Rajnath Singh, Mayawati, Mulayam Singh and Akhilesh Yadav. The Yogi Government has been corruption free and crime free so far. The position of law and order has never been so good in the last 20 years.

The population of Uttar Pradesh is mixed and its politics is badly divided among the Forward, Backward, Dalit and Minority communities. Amit Shah's social engineering formula was a hit in the 2017 assembly elections and the BJP got unprecedented success. The victory of 2022 will also depend to a large extent on this social engineering and performance of the Yogi government.

Meanwhile, there is immediate resentment in the public towards the government due to the deteriorating health infrastructure as a result of the Corona pandemic, as the second wave of Corona has severely affected the rural areas where the health facilities are minimal, although only the Yogi government is not to be blamed because healthcare infrastructure has never been given the importance by the previous governments but the public resentment is always towards the present government. It is very likely when someone loses his loved ones in this way, then people ignore the national and international importance of politics.

There is still time left for the next elections, public outrage can be replenished by healing the sentiments of the public and certainly the BJP and Yogi government will leave no stone unturned in it as the road to Delhi goes through Uttar Pradesh.

Now let's discuss broadly about Akhilesh Yadav's chances of becoming Chief Minister in 2022.

For this, the achievements of his previous tenure and his contribution to the politics of Uttar Pradesh as the main opposition party will have to be discussed.

In the last election, the BJP had raised a slogan against Akhilesh Yadav, " Jo apne Baap ka naheen hua, Vah aapka kyaa hogaa?” ( He, who could not be loyal to his father, can not be loyal to the public). It had a huge impact on the people and this slogan is still alive in Uttar Pradesh. Its brief story is that Akhilesh Yadav in a confidential and silent coup, had forcefully captured the Samajwadi Party from his father Mulayam Singh Yadav and removed him from all the posts of the party and himself became the national president of the party. Uncle Shivpal Singh was also thrown out of disrespect. This conspiracy was done so well and secretly that most of the MLAs and MPs of the party rallied with Akhilesh. At this stage of age, Mulayam Singh Yadav was thrown out by his son like a fly lying in milk. Such a big deception, so much insult and so much pain, was given by his beloved son whom he made the Chief Minister. Mulayam lovingly named Akhilesh as Tipu (Sultan), who removed him in full Mughal style. Mulayam Singh could not recover from this shock for months. After this, Akhilesh Yadav became the all in all of the Samajwadi Party.

It is also necessary to understand the fabric of the Samajwadi Party.

Mulayam Singh Yadav formed his party with great effort and devotion. He understood very well that without goons, criminals and mafia and dons, it is difficult to have a strong hold on politics, so he also included the goons and mafias in the party from the state level to the booth level, who helped the party for fake voting and booth capturing in order to win the elections. In return, during his Government, these criminals had complete freedom to do any kind of illegal work, extortion, kidnapping, ransom etc. Therefore, many infamous bandits and former dacoits of ravines also supported the Samajwadi Party. Bandit queen Phoolan Devi was elected as an MP on a Samajwadi Party ticket. You must have heard any names of Mafia don of Uttar Pradesh, they must have been associated with the SP at some time or the other.

During the tenure of Mulayam Singh, the three-time Chief Minister of the state, kidnapping had become an industry, murder was a normal thing and rape was a minor mistake made by boys. During his tenure, Mukhtar Ansari used to get the five star facilities in jail where district magistrate and SP used to play badminton with him.

A Deputy Superintendent of Police( STF), Shailendra Singh, caught Mukhtar buying LMG from a fugitive of the army and detained him under POTA, he was appreciated by the authorities and the public but the government immediately asked him to remove the POTA and apologize to Mukhtar. When he did not, he was put in jail under many serious sections of law by the government. To teach him a lesson, an attempt was also made to kill him. He was compelled to resign. Yogi withdrew false cases against this officer. Still nobody knows as to what is the result of this young officer’s honesty and dutiful devotion? Everyone will be deeply saddened by the financial condition of his family at present.

The Crocodiles were reared in a pond built in the house of one of SP’s MLA from Eastern U.P.. People say that the opponents or anti-SP people were were thrown into this pond and served to these crocodiles.

The infamous guest house scandal and a conspiracy against Mayavati in which she was to humiliate and shame and kill is still remembered by the people even if she forgets, the public cannot forget.

Disturbed by Mayawati's idol love, Muslim appeasement and corruption from 2007 to 2012, the people handed over power to the Samajwadi Party in 2012. For the first time, the SP got an absolute majority on its own. While Mulayam Singh had a dream of becoming Prime Minister, he handed over the CMship to his son, Akhilesh Yadav alias Tipu, bypassing his brother Shiv Pal Singh.

People say that there is a lot of similarity between Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav. The only difference is that Rahul Gandhi is a national level player and Akhilesh Yadav is a state level player.

Akhilesh Yadav started his innings with a victory celebration

Which he did in his village Saifai by hosting a stage show by film artists. Hundreds of crores of rupees were spent by the state government and film actors were taken from Lucknow airport to his village Saifai using the Chief Minister's helicopter as a taxi.

Four and a half chief ministers:

During the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav, there was a saying that there are four and a half chief ministers in the state, Mulayam Singh, Azam Khan, Shivpal Singh, Ram Gopal Singh and he himself was a half CM. Sources associated with the Samajwadi Party reveal that Akhilesh Yadav was unable to work independently due to his inexperience, so Rajendra Chaudhary, a close confidant of Mulayam, was put behind him who was always seen with him like a shadow. Akhilesh Yadav rarely used to come to the Chief Minister's office and there was no scheduled time for his arrival. Like government junior employees, he used to leave the office early and used to play cricket etc. with his children and their friends in the Chief Minister's residence. You can easily understand what would not have not happened in the state.

Akhilesh Yadav's tenure will always be remembered for the riots.

It is very difficult to estimate exactly how many riots happened during Akhilesh's tenure. More than 2500 big and small riots took place, the average of which is more than 500 riots every year. Till the end of his tenure, Akhilesh Yadav could not control the riots due to appeasement of vote bank. It appeared that many ministers like Azam Khan were made only to instigate riots.

During Akhilesh's tenure, the entire state was in the grip of terrible communalism.

Such a lynching of the police and the PAC never happened after independence. The statistics of how many policemen were humiliated, insulted, beaten publicly and put to death by SP-backed criminals, are shameful.

Property robbery and Mathura scandal

Looting of properties by the SP goons was going on in every city and town. Occupying unauthorisedly the locked houses was a very common occurrence. Some people had taken loans and built houses which were occupied by the SPs. While the property was occupied by the SP goons, the real owners were forced to pay installments regularly.

In Kanpur, the entire society of more than 250 plots of 200 square meters of State Bank officials, which was worth more than Rs 100 crore was occupied by a local SP leader and land mafia, which is still under his possession unfortunately one of the plots is also mine.

The 280-acre Jawahar Park in Mathura was occupied by Ramvriksh Yadav, a close aide of the SP, and established a small town. When the police tried to evacuate after it was in the headlines, 24 police personnel were martyred in the shootout, including Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent level officers.

Hindus and Muslims were also discriminated against in giving financial assistance. The police officers killed in Mathura were Hindus, they were given a financial aid of ₹ 20 lakh but compensation of ₹ 50 lakh was paid on the death of a Deputy Superintendent of Police named Zia ul Haq in Kunda and his wife was directly appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police which was the first of its kind in the history of Uttar Pradesh.

In which Akhlaq was killed, which was deliberately brought to international headlines. To hide its failure, the SP government blamed the central government calling this as result of intolerance of the Modi government.

Akhilesh Yadav's tenure was worse than hell for women in the state

Two minor girls were massacred in Badaun after being gang-raped and their dead bodies were hung on trees outside the village. The Badaun and Bulandshahar rape scandals were directly related with the SP leaders and which were defended as a minor mistakes of the boys.

Joginder Singh, a journalist from Shahjahanpur, was burnt alive

Because he brought the story of rape of a leader of Samajwadi Party in the headlines. In his pre-death statement before the magistrate, the journalist named one of Akhilesh's ministers, but during his entire tenure, Akhilesh Yadav defended his minister and was successful.

Family obedient on the post of Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission

Anil Yadav, a close aide of Mulayam, was made the chairman of the Public Service Commission, whose qualifications did not even qualify to be a clerk in the Public Service Commission. Not only this, many criminal cases were registered against him in Agra. He created new dimensions of corruption and in the selection list there were people of a particular caste and a particular religion. Meritorious youth of the state used to apply, prepare for exams, and when the results came, they were rubbing the hands.

Against this, the students waged a tremendous agitation and then the 2011 Civil Services Examination was canceled after the intervention of the High Court.

The High Court disqualified and dismissed Yadav from the post. During the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav, such unqualified, casteist, corrupt and dishonest people were placed in the posts of presidents/ chairman of many prestigious institutions and selection commissions, which will have far-reaching consequences of rot. Four such presidents were dismissed by the High Court itself.

Yadav Singh or Money Minting Machine,

Yadav Singh, a close aide of the SP, who was a polytechnic diploma holder, was made the Chief Engineer of Noida, who rose to the rank of chief engineer after getting promotion from junior engineer bypassing many seniors and well qualified engineers. He was exposed to corruption worth thousands of crores of rupees. This was perhaps the first time in the history of Uttar Pradesh when a junior engineer has been made Chief Engineer in a place like Noida in such a short time.

Mulayam's close aide Gayatri Prajapati created new record of corruption

Gayatri Prajapati, who is very close to Mulayam Singh, was made the Minister of State for Mining. As soon as he was accused of corruption, he got promoted. Gayatri Prajapati broke all the dignity in collecting money for SP, he is also accused of rape and murder. Nowadays he is in jail.

Nutan Thakur, wife of the then IG Police Amitabh Thakur of Lucknow, is a social worker. She had made several complaints against Gayatri Prajapati, due to which Mulayam Singh Yadav himself threatened to IG Amitabh Thakur over phone whose audio tape went viral and on this charge IG was suspended, so many cases were lodged against him that he was later disqualified for service.

Today the honest and dutiful loyalty of Thakur is on the road.

Another act of the mining mafia became an embarrassment for Akhilesh Yadav.

When he suspended Durga Shakti Nagpal, District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar district, for taking action against the mining mafia. This IAS couple was compelled to seek an apology from Akhilesh as a punishment for his honesty.

This matter has been in the news for months, but it has sent a message to all the officials that what is happening should be allowed to happen.

Conspiracy to appoint Lokayukta

Justice Virender Singh, a close aide of the SP, was appointed as a judge in the Prayagraj High Court in 2009, but after the position of Lokayukta vacated in the state, he was resigned and made a retired judge so that he would be eligible to become the Lokayukta. His name was included in the Lokayukta panel, which was opposed by the Chief Justice of the High Court and the Leader of the Opposition. Virendra Singh also had many serious allegations against him for occupying government land. The SP misled the SC by filing a petition in the, due to which the Supreme Court ordered to appoint Justice Virendra Singh as Lok Ayukta. Later, after a letter by the Chief Justice of the High Court to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, his swearing in ceremony was stopped and his appointment was canceled.

In the case of corruption, the Akhilesh government left Mayawati and Mulayam Singh's governments far behind.

The CAG report has revealed that in the name of unemployment allowance, the Akhilesh government has looted. It was revealed in the audit that in the meeting held to plan for distributing unemployment allowance of ₹ 20 crore among 1.25 lakh youths, ₹ 15 crore was grabbed by showing expenses only for tea snacks by making fake bills. Akhilesh, who distributed cheques with great fanfare among the unemployed youth, was also rigged and given to some selected candidates.

To beautify both sides of the Gomti River in Lucknow, a Gomti River Front Project was prepared for which a provision of Rs 550 crores was made in the budget, but against it more than 1500 crores was spent without any sanction for which fake bills were prepared and amount was grabbed. The case is under investigation and many engineers and officers are in jail, some are under investigation and many officials are absconding.

Lucknow Agra Express Way

Akhilesh Yadav describes this as his great achievement, but with the amount of money spent on it, at least 4 such expressways could be built. Even before the project was approved, those close to the SP family bought the farms coming in the expressway and later took several times more from the government as compensation in the government acquisition and also earned a lot of money in the land along the side of the expressway. Like other projects, Akhilesh could not complete this project in his tenure, only three four-kilometer pieces of this expressway was used for landing army fighter aircraft to showcase the project. The project was completed 2 years after the arrival of Yogi Govt..

Lucknow metro project was also left in the balance

Even after providing assistance of Rs 550 crores and a loan of Rs 3500 crores, by the central government, Akhilesh could not complete the first phase of Lucknow Metro and inaugurated the project on a track of only 9 km. The remaining work of this project was completed by the Yogi government.

With the amount of money Akhilesh spent in building Haj House, construction boundary wall of Kabristan (cemetery) and allotment of land for new Kabristaan (cemeteries), medical colleges and Super specialty hospitals could have been prepared in every district of the State.

Akhilesh Yadav could not complete any major project during his tenure and because of this, the International Cricket Stadium, Jayaprakash Narayan International Center, Janeshwar Mishra Park, Dial 100, and even the hi-tech office of the Chief Minister for himself could not be completed during his 5 year tenure.

It is said that he had done so many things in his bungalow but while vacating the bungalow of the Chief Minister, his bathroom tabs were found missing, the floor of the Italian tiles including the swimming pool was found broken.

In 2017, the SP and the Congress fought the Assembly election in coalition and Prashant Kishor tried a lot on the theme of "Boys of UP" but faced defeat in the elections.

Due to escapist tendencies and his allergy to Yogi, Akhilesh could not ease himself as the opposition leader in the state and fought the 2019 parliamentary elections together with Mayawati. Bua Babua's duo did not get any success but he reached the Lok Sabha ignoring the party and state .

Mayawati during pre poll arrangement with SP withdrew the criminal case against Mulayam for the guest house scandal, which she is now regretting.

Akhilesh could not control himself and become normal even after the Yogi government came and during the corona pandemic. It is always in his habit to make negative statements on Twitter. Akhilesh's tweets and statements by and large match those of Rahul Gandhi. After the rise of Priyanka in Uttar Pradesh, the seriousness of the people towards the Congress is almost gone and people do not take Akhilesh Yadav too seriously anymore.

People of the state have seen young Akhilesh Yadav as the Chief Minister and while voting they will definitely compare Yogi and Akhilesh and in this comparison Akhilesh does not stay anywhere.

Whatever be the case, Mayawati’s very responsible and restrained role was seen during the Corona pandemic and accordingly Mayawati appeared more responsible than Akhilesh Yadav. Both SP and BSP are dependent largely on Muslim votes and in the last two elections it has been observed that both parties have been sharing Muslim votes and if the same happens in the upcoming elections, neither SP nor BSP will be anywhere near the formation of the government.

Yogi Adityanath will reach the people's court on the basis of his personal clean image of a nationalist leader, hard and efficient administrator which has made him popular in the public at large. He has had a corruption-free Spotless government during the last 5 years. The fight among the three political parties the BJP, SP and BSP will be extremely thrilling but yogi has a sharp edge. Akhilesh stands nowhere in comparison to Yogi.

Therefore, it appears unlikely that the people will make Akhilesh Yadav the chief minister again, and there are countless and very reasonable reasons for this.
